Robert T Palm Beach Gardens , FL October 13, 2014 Appliance: Model KENMORE 790.9661 Oven temperature was not consistant and varied at the same setting I replaced the probe which is a thermocouple. Naturally the connector was different from the one on the stove so I cut off the connector on the old probe and soldered it to the new probe. The cleaning of the wires and soldering them was the most time consuming activity of the repair. My wife just tried the stove and the oven temperature read exactly as the setting. James B West Hartford , CT November 16, 2014 Appliance: Model FRIGIDAIRE GLEFZ379FCC F10 and f30 errors I used the forums and Q and A's on Appliance Parts Pros to learn that the RTD probe was probably damaged. A check of the old probes resistance revealed it was faulty. My order of a new probe through APP was a relatively smooth process in that the order shipped the next day was here a day after that. However, the new probe's electrical connector was a different style than the old one, so I ended up taking apart both connectors and re-establishing the new probe on the old connector. This was somewhat annoying, though I think this is a Frigidaire issue, not APP. Either way, in the end it worked out and was a lot easier/cheaper than calling in a repairman. One side note, I ended up using sockets to remove the screws on the oven's back panels as they tended to strip with a screwdriver. Steve C Dallas , PA May 01, 2017 Our oven would not keep the right temperature First I turned the breaker of, then removed the back of the stove and with my ohm meter I first checked the oven elements for broiler and oven which checked out fine. Checked the temp. probe and decided that this may be the problem. I looked up the part as well as the model number of my oven. Checked out a variety of appliance sites and came with this one. It was very easy to navigate the site and choose the product. Apon receiving it the only thing I needed to do was to snip off the old connectors and wire nut them with the new probe. Tested it at 400*, then 425* held them at each temperature foe a half an hour.
