Roy W Fernandina Beach , FL January 14, 2023 Appliance: Frigidaire Refrigerator LGHC2342LF2 Ice maker was not discharging ice at 0 degrees f; raised to 2f which worked but ice production did not keep up with our daily use for 2 people. When I first searched the AppliancePartsPros.com site for my specific model, the ice maker that appeared in the parts list was not for my refrigerator. So, I bought one from one of your competitors. It arrived and worked but produced ice even more slowly than my original unit, albeit at 0F. So, I went back to AppliancePartsPros.com parts list and browsed completely through it only to find another ice maker that did match mine. It was almost twice the cost, but after installing it, worked well at 0F. We now have plenty of ice each day. Installation was very easy. The AppliancePartsPros.com how-to videos are excellent. This particular item is super easy to replace anyway, but the videos and included written instructions are excellent. I learned that when removing the ice maker, after loosening the 1/4-inch bolts one needs to keep the unit level to avoid spilling water into the freezer compartment and onto yourself. A little patience lifting it up a little, out, then straight up again while you use the other hand to disconnect the plug goes a long way. It does require jiggling the cable behind the unit to get it to come out of the plastic recess at the back of the freezer. The other key is ensuring the two plastic pieces, one on the underside and one on the "stop making ice" lever, are attached correctly. Again the videos and written instructions are clear on this point. This is the third or fourth appliance repair I've accomplished with AppliancePartsPros.com in the last couple of years - other refrigerator problems, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. All of our appliances are reaching the the 12 to 20 year age point;) Thanks for providing this valuable service. Joseph H Binghamton , NY April 14, 2019 Ice would freeze on the scoop arm and then jam, causing the ice maker to stop making ice Replacing the ice maker fixed the issue. Because the ice maker was redesigned. I needed a new ice cream shelf. If your current ice maker has a power switch that is vertical, you will need a new ice cream shelf to make it fit correctly. The repair was very easy. All I had to do is loosen two screws on the ice maker mount and slide it out. Then disconnect the connector and install the new ice maker. It was probably the easiest repair I have ever done. Read More... 10 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers
