Greg D Manhattan , MT September 19, 2014 Appliance: Frigidaire Frigidaire/Laundry Center FEZ831AS2 Loud screeching metal on metal noise from dryer not always constant but pretty much most of the time Followed the advice from appliancepartspros.com and ordered the upper and lower felt seals and the plastic drum glide. I thought i was going to be several hundred dollars deep for the repair but they were right! The upper felt seal had been worn down....a few minutes time to apply the glue and set and like magic the dryer was fixed! i also replaced the rear bearing kit anyways since I already had the dryer apart and it wasnt that expensive. Great sound advice from this team and very helpful videos!!!! Read More... 24 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers

Albert Z Kingston , NH June 04, 2020 Appliance: Frigidaire Frigidaire/Electric Dryer GLEQ642AS2 The blower fan jammed and burned out the motor. Wife said "The dryer's broken." When attempting to turn it on, just heard a motor hum sound. After trouble shooting, I discovered that the blower fan had loosened on its shaft, and jammed, causing the motor to fail. While I had the dryer totally apart, and a blower and motor ordered, I decided to order items that I consider preventative maintenance that will extend the life of the dryer, including the belt, idler pulley, rear drum bearing assembly, drum felt seals, drum glides, front air seal, and the door switch. Short of the controls, there is nothing left to replace. It takes about an hour to replace the felt seals and air seal, and they need to set for a day to let the high temp glue dry properly. I did the assembly in less than 2 hours, plugged it in, and now have a newly refurbished quiet dryer. Wife is happy...Happy Wife, Happy Life! Some would say it would have been smarter to replace this 16 year old dryer. I say, if I would have needed to hire a repair person, only the broken items would have been fixed, and it may have been smarter to replace the dryer. However, since I'm pretty handy, and the dryer is relatively simple, I decided to repair rather than replace, and also replaced items that will extend the life of the dryer. What I like about AppliancePartsPros is their great service and videos, fast shipping, and the fact that they provided all OEM (Frigidaire) parts. I will be a customer forever!
