Leonard R Muncie , IN March 12, 2014 A power surge had went thru my daughters home and her refridgerator no longer cooled but the light still worked. I typed the problem into the internet and the Appliance parts pros came up, after entering the model number and make of the refridgerator with the assistance of on line chat the problem was diagnosed. The part suggested was a new control panel and wiring harness. The order was recieved in less than 2 days from when I ordered it. Following the included instructions I removed the old part and sure enough the connection on the back were black. Following the instructions I put in the new harness, plugged in the power cord and it worked. The procedure took about an hour. Thank you to the online operator and the technician advising her. The cost of repair was by far cheaper than having an appliance technician come out and fix or worse a new refridgerator. This is not the first time I have used Appliance parts pros. I have repaired 2 dryers, 1 washer and a microwave. Fixing things is easy with these guys in your corner. Phillip G Elko , NV October 24, 2016 Freezer was cold but reefer temp was increasing slowly Repair service was called and diagnosed the damper motor was bad and the temp controller was also. The technician who diagnosed the fridge never even open up the casing where both parts are located. I have electronic tech background so I decided to troubleshoot it for myself. I found that the only problem was the spindle in the damper assembly had a section of the elevation platform missing which caused the actuator pin to become lodged in the spindle. I ordered a new assembly but for the time being I used just a washer that I shaped to replicate the platform. The fridge is now on setting 5 and holds at 40.2 degrees F.
