James M Walworth , NY February 12, 2023 Appliance: Model GTW335ASN1WW GE washer was making a grinding noise during agitation but not the spin cycle. Using repair help suggestions from other users and youtube, I narrowed it down to the transmission (part #320) mainly because it was a metal-to-metal noise. The parts came in one day, thank you AppliancePartsPros.com. I installed the transmission but the noise was still there. Unfortunately, I didn't investigate enough and found a youtube video that suggested it could be the mode shifter (part #325) and that's what it was. I still saved money because having a service tech fix this problem would have still cost 3 times what I paid for parts and fixing it myself. if you are mechanically inclined, fix it yourself!
