Julio M Tucson , AZ February 13, 2017 Igniter replacement and overall maintenenance Second repair after 10 years of service - igniter had cracked and spill overs were causing the others to misfire. This was a two-step process. I took apart the cooktop to see what parts were neded. Screws were all rusted, I had to drill ome out. The burner gaskets broke during the process and needed replacement. One of the burners had deformed due to excess heat. After that initial diagnose, I reassembled the cooktop without the igniters and ordered all the parts I needed. The second stage was easy since I had already learned which parts needed replacement and how. work finished with a good cleanup of th glass plate. Danny H Sunset Beach , NC February 23, 2021 Appliance: Model JGP970SEL2SS GE glass cooktop kept sparking even after it was lit and would spark randomly during the day all the burners sparked at once Well after looking the issue up on YouTube I first tried the cleaning of the burners no help. So I decided I needed to replace either the harness switch assembly or the spark module. I decided that since I had to remove the glass top and install either and put if all back together before I would know if it worked, I just did both at once since it seemed it had to be one or the other. Got the parts ordered for the correct model, turned off the gas and pulled the top. Took about 90 minutes, really pretty easy step by step worked like a charm. I figured I save at least $200 to $250.00 for service call labor and parts. But it was finished at least a week before I could get a repair tech there. Blake V Midland , TX December 02, 2017 Flames shot out of one of the appliance knobs. Immediately unplugged the gas range, turned off the gas, removed the range and disassembled it. Obviously the harness that controls the gas was damaged so I did a Buick google search and found all of the parts I would need on here. Placed the order and fixed my range 2 days later.
