Description

This is the microwave's high-voltage capacitor. It stores and releases energy in the high-voltage circuit to power the magnetron so food heats. A failed capacitor can cause no heat, loud humming, or blown fuses.

• Works with the high-voltage transformer and diode to supply the magnetron with operating voltage
• Stores and smooths high-voltage DC in the microwave's power circuit
• Failure may result in no heat while lights and turntable still run
• Can cause loud buzzing, sparking, or a burning smell during operation
• May open the internal fuse or trip a breaker when the cycle starts
