I ordered the parts, after assuring my diagnosis was correct from APP’s knowledgeable representative, and they were shipped quickly. I tipped the washer and disassembled the parts to be replaced and then installed a new clutch, clutch spring and mode shifter. Sara A Bozeman , MT November 13, 2024 Grinding noises and squeals during agitation in 7 year old ge washer Ordered a new shift actuator, clutch and spring, replaced those and the belt (wasn't sure what part was failing, but I chose to cover the basics). No more grinding! I am a 47yo mom with some mechanical ability (e.g. can change the oil in a vehicle) and this repair was easy-took less than an hour. Joe F Hatfield , PA November 14, 2025 My ge washing machine which is just 4 years old was making a grinding type noise during the wash cycle After looking at the parts break out and researching on line I made the decision to replace the shift actuator, clutch gear and spring, transmission pulley, and drive belt. Operation is normal after the repair but I think the service life of these components is way too short and I intend to keep some replacements in stock for the future. Brett W Metairie , LA January 21, 2024 Appliance: Model GTW335ASN2WW The wash cycle was very loud, grinding almost but constant throughout the cycle. I replaced the clutch, clutch spring, and mode shifter. The first thing I replaced was the drive belt but that didn't help. This repair was fairly simple. I bought some grease from Lowe's.
