Paul G New Fairfield , CT December 08, 2014 Breaker was tripping when going into defrost mode Inspected the Defrost timer and it seamed to be functioning properly. Ohm ed out the defrost heater element and it also measured out correctly (mine 34 ohms). Bypassed the heater element and found that the unit would run without tripping breaker during defrost cycle. At this point i inspected the wiring to the heater and checked continuity of the wire and continuity to ground, No issues found. So with the heater out of the circuit and not having an issue i ordered heater element from AppliancePartsPros.com on Thursday around 1:45pm and received the package on Friday just after 1:30 PM with basic shipping. Five minutes later installed and cycled through defrost mode a few items issue was resolved. not sure why the old one tested out fine but failed when installed. Domenic D Bryn Mawr , PA December 02, 2020 Appliance: General Electric Refrigerator TBX19PATMRAA Cold freezer, warm refrigerator Great phone support helped with getting correct parts. Refrigerator is about 24 years old. Waiting on back ordered (March) replacement. I ordered the 3 main parts: thermostat, heater kit (coil) and timer. It took the most time to defrost coils, used a heat gun. Turned out heater coil was burned out. Replaced timer an thermostat anyway. Only disappointing part of the project was the condition of the coil when received, box looked like it fell off a truck and then got run over, the bracket had to be straightened out. Extra cost 2 day shipping turned out to be 6 days, COVID and thanksgiving didn’t help. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers
