Ralph T Langhorne , PA July 26, 2014 The warming burner on my stove was not working I watched a few videos on youtube to get some ideas as to what the problem may be. I pulled out the stove from the wall and DISCONNECTED THE POWER - thats very important. I took a picture of the burneer connections, so I would know how to reconnect the wires later. I removed the broken burner, and check visually for any broken areas in the coil. There were none visible. Next, using multimeter, I checked for continuity. The meter indicated that there was no continuity through the connectors. I again checked for continuity but through the coil itself. Again, nothing. I reinstalled everything back to normal and reconnected the power. I tested it again - still dead. I ordered a new part and received it two days later. When I received the new part, I again pulled the stove out from the wall and DISCONNECTED THE POWER! I removed the broken burner and replaced it with the new one, using the picture that I took previously as a guide. I reconnected the power, and YAY - it got hot. I pushed the stove back into place. All Done!. Saved about $100 on a service call. Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
Saul T Rosharon , TX July 16, 2016 Appliance: Model GE JB850 Only 2 elements out of 5 would turn on they were only half on I looked online to see what the issue could be on YouTube. I found out that replacing the elements was one possibility to fix it. I opened the stove took pictures and took out the radiant element to find out on the inside they had been burned. This solidified the issue. I ordered them right away and it worked! No need to call a repairman!
