Ge WD12X10357 Fine Filter Assembly (Dishwasher) OEM Part

Filter replacement is easy. CAUTION. When removing the wand that is immediately above this filter you must reach around the back base and feel for a tab sticking out. Pull on it and lift the wand up. If not you may break the tab off which is a retainer needed for the center wand that supplies water to the upper rack. This would have been a 15 minute job but I broke the tab off I mentioned earlier. I ended up adding a stainless steel screw through the base just above a flange that rises when the water pressure forces it up.

The water was coming out of the overflow into my cabinet not just into the drain. Turns out there was just debris in the drain little draino cleaned it out I took that opportunity to change the discharge hose and clean all the filters. I had the special order the little rubber coupler that had disintegrated and the large filter as it was so gross it wouldn't come clean. It was an easy repair just a little tough getting underneath the washer to change the hose.

The problem was the Filter Fine Assembly had broken which caused a small piece of plastic from the broken Filter to jam up the wash motor. Jiggled the wash motor and it thudded into place. Turned on dishwasher to test and water pumped out successfully. While taking parts out, accidentally broke the Lower Spray Arm Base. Ordered parts to replace the broken ones on Sunday (8/1). They arrived on Wed (8/4). Parts replaced and dishwasher runs like a charm.
