Ge ADAPTER Smartwater™ Refrigerator Filter Adapter OEM Part

When the adapter arrived, I wasn't sure it was the right one as it looked completely different. The fridge is old, and I inherited it when I moved in 4 years ago and it hadn't been replaced since I wasn't aware it needed changing. I inserted the adapter into the new filter, aligned the arrow on the filter to the one on the fridge panel and turned the filter accordingly and it seemed to fit fine. I made sure it was tight enough and it seems to be fine now. I ran the water from the door spigot for a few minutes as directed. No discoloration in the water and it flowed just fine. Then tested the ice cube maker and this was fine also. I'm hopeful this has corrected the issue and will be able to replace it again when needed.

First I ordered the water filter and then I had to call back because it didn't fit because I needed adapter once I ordered that it worked.

It was very easy! GE doesn’t make the old filters anymore. The newer filters need an adapter. The GE adapter screwed in perfectly. Just make sure you line up the arrow on it. We now have filtered water again for the ice cubes and drinking water!

After a month of buying over $500 in filters from the big stores, who did not know which filter I needed. I did research and contacted the manufacturer directly only to get the wrong filter again and was not informed it needed an "Adapter to a specific filter that they discontinued" and they wanted me to get a monthly subscription service. I came across your website surfing for the filter I needed and found it. It footnoted in the filter description it needed an adapter and offered the products as a package deal. They even called to verify the correct product and delivery. Hats off to the outstanding customer service. Great job everyone!
