Ge WR17X10745 Dispenser Drip Tray OEM Part

Was an easy swap. Ordered the pieces, got them withing two days. Didn't realize a hair dryer would melt so much of the plastic pieces that I couldn't even see while trying to defrost the water line in the door. Next time it happens I will just empty the freezer and leave the door open for a few hours. Will save me from making this mistake again. Thankfully easy to replace the parts myself and not too expensive.

I read online that a quick fix, although not a final repair, was to use a hairdryer to heat the area on the door and thaw the ice. This technique worked several times, but seemed to take longer each time. The final time, I was thawing the door from the front and back, and one of the times that I was thawing the front near the dispenser, the entire dispenser area melted. I had to replace the black plastic part that the cup presses against because it had melted.

Replaced water line & both damaged dispenser parts.

Found auger blades broken, went on line to appliances parts, looked up my refrigerator, found the part I needed and ordered. This was a VERY easy process. Part arrived and watched the repair video at APP where I found auger. This really made it go so smooth. I do have to add, when doing this, let the ice drawer warm up, makes it easier to manipulate the tabs. Thanks APP, it was a breeze.

Replaced solenoid valve that controls actuator that cycles between crushed and cubed ice. Simple fix!
