Robert H Las Vegas , NV May 10, 2016 Appliance: Model I DON'T REMEMBER NOW The metal split apart at the right hinge (bottom right hand corner) leaving only the door liner holding it up putting stress splits in the liner I had to replace the outer door panel, the metal part of the door, bottom 3/4 that attaches to the controls panel. The hardest part was removing the screws in the hinge, since you need gorilla strength to pull it downward while removing the mounting screws that connect the door to the hinge. The metal was broken completely, so the hinge was in the closed position. I used a regular phillips screwdriver and a newer version of a cross between a phillips and an allen wrench. It's got a hexagon cylinder tip, but it's flat on the bottom. At first, it looked like I needed an allen wrench, and I was able to remove the bottom left (underneath) screw with an allen; however, when trying to remove the right side, it just wasn't engaging. I went looking in my collection of screwdrivers and found the one that ended up working. Obviously, that's the correct configuration of the well of the head of the screw. This is why it took me a bit longer than it really should have, plus the fact the screws on that right side were frozen. I used a flat head to wedge between the broken metal from the door panel and the hinge to break the metal away, loosening the grips of the two frozen screws. Once I connected the reassembled door to the hinge, the weight of the door keeps the hinges down when the door is open. The job was successful, and I needed no help in the actual physical work & replacement. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
