Carlos P Okeechobee , FL September 05, 2014 The timer knob had cracked where it slides on to the timer control Bought the replacement timer knob and changed the old one out. I noticed that the replacement knob had a metal sleeve around the piece that slips on to the timer. This must have been a problem with these timer knobs in the past. My thanks to the person that thought about putting the sleeve on to prevent cracking in the future. John K West Jefferson , OH August 23, 2015 Timer knob broken The timer knob on our GE dryer cracked. We used pliers to set it after that, this was a terrible idea. Soon the stem on the timer was destroyed and now I had to replace it too. I waited too long originally, but I've I decided to fix it, the problem wasn't too bad. I was able to order the parts I needed in about 10 minutes and they were in my mailbox in about 3 days. In about a half hour my dryer was fixed and put back together. I regret not doing it earlier, but was fortunate to still be able to fix everything quickly, affordably, and on my own. I'd say the cost of my repair was less than the service call alone. This was a great experience. Oh....take some quick pictures of the things you disassemble to help you put things back together.
