S S Elk River , MN February 07, 2021 Appliance: Model DDE7200RALWH. Dryer not heating. My old dryer (about 25 years) wasn't heating. So I looked at the heating coils. One was broken so I replaced the heating assembly. Still didn't heat, but I did notice if I turned the timer to a very specific spot the coils would glow for a short time. I found * appliancepartspros.com they had parts to pick from. I had to do some research and cross reference part numbers which were a little tricky considering the age of the dryer ( GE ) 5 cycle large capacity. I then replaced the timer and the thermostat to join the heater unit I had already installed. I can't stress enough to do your due diligence regarding replacement parts. It can help a lot to remove them and have them with you for visual comparison. My investment of a couple of hours of my labor and approx. $ 325 was FAR cheaper than the cheapest crummy import replacement at the local Big Box store. You can do this simple repair!
