Tom K Saint Joseph , MI March 21, 2017 Appliance: General Electric Washer WJRE5550K2WW Ge top load washer loud noises and oily spots inside bottom of cabinet I ordered a new mode selector and new tub bearing. Upon disassembly, I noticed that the plastic outer tub had actually heated up around the tub bearing and tub seal area, such that the new tub seal did not fit tightly. I pulled the assembly back off and flipped the seal over, then reassembled it again. I also put on a new drive belt, which was much tighter than I expected. I did not buy the special wrench to remove the tub nut, but bought a new combination wrench and cut it down to fit inside the washer. Thanks to Appliance Parts Pro and their quick shipping, we were down for only three days. The video was very helpful for both ends of the job.
