Carriage bolt for snowblower attachments and snow throwers. Secures components and panels. Replace if bolt is stripped, rusted, or missing.
A carriage bolt is a type of fastener. It features a smooth rounded head and a square domed top. It has threading, which leads to up to the square shoulder. The purpose of its square is to prevent the bolt from spinning. Once the carriage bolt is inserted through the hole, using a nut and washer can provide additional security. Carriage bolts can corrode and loosen over time. Since it doesn't have a slotted head, a socket wrench is needed when replacing. This bolt carriage replacement is compatible with wood chippers, tillers, string trimmers, lawnmowers, and edgers. It is a genuine MTD product that measures 5/16x.075. It has a smooth rounded head and square shoulder underneath it. This carriage bolt is sold individually.
This carriage bolt is a self-locking fastener made for use in round or square holes to attach metal to metal in outdoor equipment. These bolts provide an added safety feature because they can only be removed from one side. Carriage bolts can carry a large amount of weight, which makes them ideal for use in outdoor yard equipment. Carriage bolts may be used to attach a lawn mower's arm to the side support and other similar applications. If the bolt needs to be replaced, removal and installation are simple. Use a wrench to loosen the nut holding the washer and bolt in place. Once the nut is loose, the bolt can be unthreaded by hand and pulled out of the hole. To install, push the bolt back through the hole. If the fit is too tight to install by hand, use a hammer to tap it in place. Reinstall the washer and nut and tighten with a wrench. This carriage bolt is designed for use in lawnmowers, snowblowers, and lawn tractors manufactured by Craftsman, Bolens, Yard Machines, Yard-Man, and MTD. This is a genuine OEM product that comes directly from the manufacturer. Note: It does not come with a nut or washer.

A flange lock nut, also known as a flange lock or a lock nut, is created to be used in various types of lawn and garden equipment. This flange lock nut holds other parts in place and, when properly threaded, will resist loosening. Over time, a flange lock nut may begin to weaken and may become loose or break. If it appears to be broken or weak, a replacement is required. Flange locks can be adjusted and uninstalled after use. When replacement is required, you may need a socket set, screwdriver, hacksaw, and butane torch. The socket wrench will loosen the bolt it is connected to, while the torch is used to heat the lock nut. A socket wrench may remove the nut, but sometimes cutting it with a hacksaw is required. This flange lock nut is a genuine OEM component directly from the manufacturer and comes in an individual unit. It is made of metal, a gold color, and can be found in various areas of lawn equipment. It works with lawnmowers, trimmers, snowblowers, cultivators, tillers, and leaf blowers by Poulan, MTD, Toro, Cub Cadet, Murray, Troy-Bilt, Bolens, Yard Machines, Craftsman, and Yard-Man.

In the situation where other parts need to be replaced at the same time, a basic set of tools and a pair of work gloves may be required. Turn off the yard equipment and place it on a stable surface before replacing the broken cable tie. The old tie can be removed so the new one can be installed before further use. This cable tie is an authentic OEM replacement part that is directly sourced from the manufacturer. This is a flanged lock nut. It’s designed to apply tension, typically on a joint that needs to have a certain amount of flex. As such, it’s mostly used on snowblower chutes and lawnmower handles. They can remain in place, but with a forgiving connection that can take a beating. The nut size is 3/8, with a thread size of 16. A lock nut will generally last for many years. However, the silicone ring inside will wear down if it’s frequently tightened and loosened. It needs to be replaced when it will no longer reliably remain in place. Generally, this begins as a symptom of slight slippage and worsens as time goes on. Thankfully, whether it’s being used on a snowblower or a lawnmower, this nut is generally straightforward to access. Simply unscrew the old nut, then screw the new nut on until it’s nice and tight. Our flanged lock nuts are genuine OEM MTD nuts, and they are sold individually.
