The constant cooking and age of the appliance I repaired corroded the housing attachment that holds the igniter in place to the burner. Also the screws that hold the burner in place to the stove cover were also corroded which caused the burner itself to not stay in place but fall into the stove. By using a screw driver, lift up on the sides of the stove cover to pop the clips that hold it in place. Use a block of wood to hold up the stove cover.
