Description

Piston rings help to maintain the pressure between the piston and cylinder wall. If the compressed gas between these two parts begins to leak out, the engine will not be able to put out enough energy, and the lawn appliance will stop working. Piston rings can wear out over time due to engine overheating or faulty ignition in the engine. A telltale sign of a burnt-out piston ring is whitish-grey smoke coming from the appliance. Extreme oil inefficiency is another sign.
