Description

Many gas-powered small engines require the use of a pull cord to get the engine going. Rather than a starter, it is the pull of the cord that causes the engine to turn over and combustion to begin inside of the engine. These pull mechanisms often use a damper spring on the starter assembly. It exists to "pre-load" a recoil or pull starter with a lot of tension.
