The Heating Element Assembly is an OEM part for GE dryers. It is responsible for generating the heat necessary to dry clothes during the drying cycle. This assembly includes the heating element itself, which heats up when electricity passes through it, and the housing that supports and protects the element.
You should replace this heating element assembly if it becomes faulty. Causes of a bad heating element assembly can include wear and tear over time, overheating due to blocked airflow, or damage from electrical issues.
Symptoms of a bad heating element assembly include:
- Clothes not drying properly
- No heat during the drying cycle
- Longer drying times
- The dryer not getting warm
