This dryer motor kit powers the drum and blower. Replacing a weak or failed motor restores proper tumbling and airflow so the dryer starts reliably and dries loads more evenly.
- Drives the drum via the belt and turns the blower wheel for airflow
- Helps resolve: dryer hums but won't start, drum won't turn, or stops mid-cycle
- Can reduce loud buzzing/grinding noises from the motor area
- Restores consistent operation when the motor overheats and trips its protector
What's included: 1 drive motor Install notes:
- Disconnect power; turn off gas supply to gas dryers before servicing
- Remove panels to access the drive system; release belt tension and remove the drum as needed
- The blower wheel threads onto the motor shaft—support it carefully; many GE dryers use a reverse (left-hand) thread
- Transfer wiring and any reusable hardware to the new motor; test before reassembly

Motor was not working Linn C. • Saint Augustine , FL • June 17, 2014
Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. There are a few good video's online showing how to do this job and can save you a lot of time and frustration.
