This spark module generates the high-voltage pulses that ignite the surface burners on your gas range or cooktop. Replacing a weak or failed module restores reliable clicking and ignition on the burners served by this 2-output (2+0) circuit. What it does:
- Generates high-voltage pulses to the surface-burner igniters when a control knob is turned to ignite
- Controls spark for two burners (2+0 configuration)
- Common failure symptoms: no clicking/spark on the affected burners, intermittent/weak spark, or needing a match to light
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect electrical power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
- Access the module (typically beneath the cooktop or behind the control panel) and label/photograph wiring for reference
- Transfer wires one at a time; ensure high-voltage leads are fully seated and the module is properly grounded
- Mount securely, reassemble, restore utilities, and test ignition on both burners
Identification tip:
- "2+0" denotes a two-outlet surface-burner spark module; replace with the same configuration as the original
Diagnostic tip:
- A failed module typically affects all burners it serves; if only one burner won't spark, inspect that burner's igniter and switch first

- Common failure symptoms: no heat in bake, very long preheat, uneven or undercooked results
- Visible damage may include blistering, cracks, or burned spots on the element sheath
What's included: One bake element. Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely
- Remove racks; take out the element's mounting screws and gently pull the element forward to access the terminals
- Support and label wires; transfer them to the new element one at a time to avoid miswiring and prevent wires from slipping back
- Reinstall securely, restore power, and run a Bake test to verify operation

The front door glass of my ge xl44 gas range was shattered by a flying crockpot Kurt N. • South Williamsport , PA • May 10, 2017
I lifted up the door and removed it.
Next, I laid out newspaper on the floor.
I placed the door on the newspaper upside down.
With my socket driver, I removed the bottom door trim.
I then used a pocket knife to remove the remaining glass in the top groove.
I then slid in the new glass and reinstalled the trim.
It took 30 minutes to replace the glass and clean up the glass
fragments from the previous door glass.
I looked up a video on how to replace it Utube.

Our cook top had rusted out Elizabeth I. • Eldorado , WI • June 27, 2017
I replaced the cook top. I neglected to take pictures before I removed the hardware from the old cook top, so the install was a little more challenging than it should have been. Also it required a star driver, which I luckily had laying around, but could imagine a few people might not own.
