Fuel filters are created to strain out gas before it reaches the carburetor in lawnmowers and other gardening tools. Located in the fuel line or the fuel tank, it prevents unwanted debris from reaching the carburetor, which can cause engine damage. If the fuel filter is damaged or becomes clogged with material, it no longer offers the same protection to the carburetor. This can lead to difficulty starting the lawnmower and decreased performance. Correcting this issue early can prevent damage that might require a new lawnmower.
