Inglis Door Strike
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W11429589

This replacement door strike provides the solid catch point the latch/lock grabs so the appliance recognizes the door or lid is closed and can run safely. A worn, bent, or broken strike can interrupt operation. What it does

  • Forms the fixed catch for the door/lid latch or lock
  • Helps actuate the interlock/safety switch so a cycle can start
  • Misalignment or damage can keep the door from latching and stop cycles
  • Common symptoms: door/lid won't latch or stay closed, unit won't start, "Door/Lid" or "Lock" message, needing to hold the door shut, visible cracks or wear on the strike
What's included
  • 1 strike
Install notes
  • Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing
  • Open the door/lid and remove the mounting screws securing the old strike; retain hardware if it is reused
  • Position the new strike in the same orientation and tighten screws snugly; avoid over-tightening to prevent damage
  • Close and open the door/lid to confirm smooth latch engagement, then run a brief test cycle
