Kenmore Pro Cooktop Switch
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 316436000
The Small Surface Element Switch is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire electric ranges. It serves as the control knob and circuitry to safely power one of the smaller cooking elements.
Symptoms of a bad surface element switch include:
- Inability to ignite or regulate heating for its assigned zone
- Switch knob that feels loose, won't click smoothly, or won't stay set
- Intermittent or unreliable power to the smaller element coils
- Tripped circuit breakers upon use that don't reset
Causes relate to thousands of rotations wearing micro-switches and wiring terminals within the control assembly. Regular cleaning around knobs can prevent accelerated deterioration from baked-on debris conducting excess heat.
This genuine OEM replacement part is compatible with other brands including Electrolux and Kenmore as well.

Surface switches not operating properly; going from cool to very hot etc Guy G. • Guthrie , OK • October 10, 2014
Replaced all four element switches. Switches arrived within two days of ordering. That's about normal for AppliancePartsPros. They were the correct ones; not generic, and fit the original control knobs perfectly. This kind of service is what I'm used to from ApplicanePartsPros.
