Latch would not open consistently on detergent dispenser James G. • Waxhaw , NC • January 12, 2015
Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle.

- Difficulty fully opening or closing the lid securely
- Leaks or spills occurring from around the sealing edges
- Potential cracks that compromise lid integrity or function
- Hinges that are loose or fail to support the lid in position
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana, and some Kenmore models.

This is the rinse aid dispenser assembly that mounts inside the dishwasher door and automatically releases rinse aid during the final rinse cycle. It helps prevent water spots and streaking on dishes by reducing surface tension on the water. Replace this part if rinse aid leaks prematurely, the dispenser cap won't stay closed, or your dishes come out spotted despite having rinse aid in the reservoir.
