Benjamin M Fayetteville , TX March 26, 2021 Appliance: Model WT7200CW Washer was leaving soap on clothes. Plastic gear in agitator was worn. Note that this plastic part is typically hidden by a metal insert that converts the diameter of the shaft gear to the diameter of the agitator (pulsator). If you can spin the agitator freely, check here first before concerning yourself with the actual motor/gearing under the unit. All you need for this repair is a flat blade screw driver to pop the cap off, and a 10mm socket to pull the agitator (pulsator). My cap broke so I replaced it, but you might have better luck getting yours off and only need the agitator/pulsator. Richard S Framingham , MA May 15, 2022 Appliance: Model WT7300CV - LG WASHER Waxy brown flakes (scrud) on laundry. A waxy brown scrud residue had built up on the outside of the washer drum and bottom of drum "pulsator assembly." Running the cleaning cycle was not effective to remove all of the flakes. I had to remove the drum and pulsator assembly and scrub clean using a large brush, toothbrush and hot soapy water. After reassembling the washer, the problem continued because the scrud was also on the inside of the pulsator assembly, which is a sealed unit. I purchased a new pulsator assembly and pulsator cap to fix the problem. A new pulsator cap was necessary because I damaged the original part removing it from the washer, the plastic tabs had broken off. Once these parts were installed, the problem of waxy brown flakes was solved.
