We had a repair man come and tell us the needed repair at the cost of 70.00 I ordered the parts and saved money.

Plastic gear in agitator was worn. Note that this plastic part is typically hidden by a metal insert that converts the diameter of the shaft gear to the diameter of the agitator (pulsator). If you can spin the agitator freely, check here first before concerning yourself with the actual motor/gearing under the unit. All you need for this repair is a flat blade screw driver to pop the cap off, and a 10mm socket to pull the agitator (pulsator). My cap broke so I replaced it, but you might have better luck getting yours off and only need the agitator/pulsator.

I was able to watch the repair videos on the website and replicate the steps on my washing machine. The videos highlighted the problems that I would face before doing the repair, it saved a lot of time and frustration knowing the tricks ahead of doing the repair.

The code indicated that the clutch assembly was broken. I ordered the part from appliance parts pros after watching a video tutorial on YouTube. I received the part quickly. It did take some time and I referred back to the tutorial several times. I bought an extra-wide crescent wrench to remove a 38mm bolt. My standard socket set covered everything else. The washer is working fine now. I learned to “embrace the challenge” and saved quite a bit of money over a service call or brand new washer.

Installed the new pulsator assembly. The only problem is when I ordered the new part nothing was said that it came with a new bolt assembly, and I had purchased a new one. The bolt was on around $3.00 so no big deal
