Elizabeth H San Diego , CA October 15, 2015 Appliance: Model AEQ73110205 Ice machine died only lasted a couple of years with problems from day one In 2012 I purchased an LG French door bottom freezer fridge. this thing was a problem from day one, I had to call 3 technicians where I bought it from- a nameless major retailer. through the 2 1/2 years I have had it, the problems were always with the ice cube maker, and finally, the motor finally stalled. I was able to revive it, but only for a short time- then I went to replace the unit all together and searched high and low until I came across Appliance Pros. I actually had no idea that 2 of these same fridges were made this particular year, and Appliance Pros left this awesome bit of information that not even this major retailer should have told me. Appliance Pros indicated that I should double check how many wires I had on the existing unit, as there was another part that had a different number of wires- so not to order the wrong one and become frustrated. Because of this information I was prepared and became well educated with not so much information that I was originally left with. Appliance Pros made it so easy- I called to make triple sure, and they were so helpful. I had the confidence that what I purchased was the right unit for my model of fridge. I just installed it (literally took me 15 min) and now we have a fully functioning ice maker in the fridge! yay! I actually had to call Appliance Pros 3 times, and all calls were satisfactory and email response was immediate. Not only this, but before I had found this- I was originally forced to go the major retailer's site to get the part, and the customer service was HORRIBLE. this is when I decided to venture out into the Google world, and stumbled upon Appliance Pros. the price was even WAY cheaper then the major retailer!!! good things came in threes I discovered, as when I ordered this replacement, it came to me within 2 days!!! I needed this solution fast, and it was easy, convenient and very affordable. thank you again to this place!! I'm so coming back soon! Murray E Urbandale , IA February 22, 2015 Ice maker failed to make ice I went on-line to Applianceparts pro, entered the model number of our refrigerator then selected the ice maker part. I ordered it on Tuesday, it arrived on Thursday. I removed the old ice maker, installed the new ice maker, pushed the on button then the reset button and we had a working ice maker. It took me less than 30 minutes just using a Philips head screw driver. We had an estimate from a repair service of $380 and a seven day wait for the part and installation. With today's labor and trip charges becoming more expensive, I will look carefully at repairing our appliances myself. Mark H Miami Lakes , FL January 27, 2015 Appliance: Model 795.71053.010 Ice maker stopped working it would not even fill with water also would not respond correctly when the test switch was depressed It was a little tricky to figure out how to remove the defective Ice Maker/Ice Dispenser assembly from the compartment (Seven philips head screws had to be removed), and to fish both wiring harness connectors through the small opening in the ice dispenser portion. Once that was accomplished I just had to re-thread the two connectors in reverse back through the small opening in the dispenser portion and reconnect the small connector. It was also a little tricky to put the assembly back into the Ice Maker/Ice Dispenser compartment, as you have to be very careful to position the assembly correctly under the water inlet spout and also not to pinch any wires. The time to do the replacement was about 45 minutes. Read More... 82 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
Steven R Houston , TX December 26, 2016 Appliance: Model LFX25976ST/00 Ice maker stopped working due to the thermocouple shorting out I ordered this replacement for our LG Refrigerator. The new ice maker came with several improvements from my original, such as the way the wires are routed for the thermocouple reading the temperature of the ice in the tray to dump the ice. The installation went very easy. I do recommend removing the existing first to make sure that you order the correct ice machine with the correct number of wires. On the installation, I had to tape the wires to the back of the ice maker on installation to keep them in place, so that the ice maker would go into place correctly.
