Arthur H Virginia Beach , VA December 06, 2014 Appliance: LG Dishwasher LDS4821BB Lg dishwasher door was just falling when opened I went to AppliancePartsPros.com and looked at the parts breakdown for the door. I had assumed a broken spring or cable so I found and ordered them. Having never changed them on an LG, I watched the video. I now new what to do. The hardest part of the whole job was pulling out the dishwasher to get at the springs and cables. There was enough slack in the hoses and wire to get it out without disconnecting them. Joshua D Wellington , CO August 12, 2019 Door hinge cable broke. I did not know which part broke, but it was very obvious once I moved the Dishwasher out of the cabinet. The "cable" is nylon cord, so I imagine this would be sacrificial part on every machine. Richard S Winchester , VA December 24, 2016 The door would fall open could not just open it a little to allow dishes to dry Replaced the cables (ropes) that gave resistance to the door and put new springs while I was at it. I bought two sets, one for each side, and planed to replace both while I had it out. It turned out to be a good choice because the one that had not yet broken was just as worn and would most likely break soon. Read More...
