Eric H Niskayuna , NY February 26, 2017 Appliance: Model LG WM2016CW Burning smell Replaced all bearings, seals, springs, dampers and gaskets. After disassembly I was cleaning the gunk off the spider arm. I was seeing what looked like small stones in the clean out trap. Turns out it was small pieces of metal. Spider arm was being eaten and had holes in it so replaced that too. Bolts holding spider arm to the drum are secured with orange lock tight. I used blue when replacing. Burning smell is gone along with all the other smells after 9 years of use. Rubber door gasket seems to not fit the same as the original. Not leaking and fits snuggly to the tub and door just more rubber in the folds. Not sure how else to describe it.There was a little rubbing because of this below the upper hold back tabs on spin cycle but that seems to have stopped. All parts were correct for my unit and arrived quickly within 2 days. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Screwdrivers, Socket Set
