Linda B San Diego , CA November 23, 2015 Appliance: Model LG WM4270 Worn out bearings After watching the video carefully and taking notes for step-by-step dismantling of the LG washer, I took it apart methodically placing each item on a table in the order removed. I was able to remove and replace the bearings with no problems following the tips and tricks. The spider did not seem to be in bad shape but since I had a new one, it seemed reasonable to replace it as well, but it was difficult to extract the old one from the drum. The bolts are assembled with weld glue, so it is a good idea to heat them and tap them before even trying to loosen them. Once that was accomplished, I reassembled the machine and it worked great! It seemed well balanced when run empty but not so much with laundry in it, so I re-leveled it while spinning and this nearly eliminated the vibrations. It has been operating flawlessly for several months now. Thank you, appliancepartspros.com. Without your instructions and efficiently correct parts ordering website, this project would not have been possible. Brett L Currituck , NC November 12, 2016 Appliance: LG Washer WM2016CW Smoke coming from drum on spin cycle After the washer had filed the laundry room with smoke and determining the source of the smoke was the door gasket. I removed the back cover to see if the bearings and or seal were bad and I discovered that one of the shock absorbers had pulled apart and the other 2 were leaking, I ordered new bearings, seal, spider assembly, door boot seal, tub o-ring, & shock absorbers to make sure I had everything that could possibly be wrong with it before starting the repair based upon research and watching videos on you-tube and appliancepartspros.com. Disassembly of washer was fairly easy and once I got it apart, I found that the spider was deteriorating and the inner tub bearing was starting to go bad, this plus the bad shocks were causing the drum the rub on the door boot gasket during spin cycle. All the new parts were direct replacements for the original equipment, everything went together fine and washer functions like new. I think that almost anyone that is even remotely mechanically inclined could do this job, the hardest part was getting the dryer off the top and moving washer so I could work on it plus getting the drum out of and back into the washer cabinet. The drum and tub assembly is heavy and awkward. Fia T Waretown , NJ January 22, 2017 Appliance: LG Washer WM0642HW Noisy wobbly washing machine mostly during spin cycles This machine (WM0642HW) calls for 3 shocks. Installing them was easy. Getting to them (taking the machine apart) was the most time consuming part. After installation, the machine ran like new... quiet, not wobbly - moving around.... almost as if it were new. Please note, these shocks appear to be even better made than the OEM that came with the machine. Very happy with the purchase, and delivery time was fast. Thank you.
