The choke control helps ensure the choke lever is actuated so the carburetor can take advantage of a richer ratio of air and fuel when the motor is started. A screwdriver may be needed for the replacement. The equipment should be placed on a stable surface with the spark plug wire disconnected. The top cover can be removed before taking out the recoil assembly. Once that is complete, the existing choke control can be removed using the screwdriver.
