This is a genuine OEM primer hose replacement part sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is used on tillers and other outdoor power equipment with a primer bulb assembly. The hose is the part of the assembly that runs from the fuel tank to the carburetor. When the primer bulb is pressed, fuel is collected from the tank and pushed into the carburetor to start the engine. Any unused fuel is released back into the fuel tank. If the primer hose has cracks or holes in it, the vacuum inside the hose will be lost and the primer bulb will not force the fuel to the carburetor. These cracks or holes can occur over time due to fuel eroding the hose material. If the primer bulb is not working and fuel cannot be seen in the tube, the primer hose should be inspected and replaced if necessary. Before replacing a primer hose, empty the fuel from the fuel tank and fuel lines into a clean container. Remove the spark plug. Remove and replace the primer hose. After refueling, check the primer bulb to ensure the primer hose is pulling fuel. This primer hose is clear plastic material; it is sold as an individual unit. This hose is compatible with tillers, chippers, shredders, and other small engines manufactured by Cub Cadet, MTD, and Yard Machines.
