The instructions that came with the parts did not match the project I was doing, so those were not helpful. I looked up videos on YouTube and those all made it look way easier than it actually was. Replaced the door hinge, unscrewed the door from the hinge then removed old hinge & screwed on new one. I did mark where the old hinge was positioned before removing. Once new hinge was on I was able to attach the door. Very simple repair that took me approx 10 mins. Read more

I saw a tube video of a guy that replaces the boot without taking any of the washer apart. The boot was no problem, I had the old one off and the new one on in 20 minutes... The rear wire/spring clamp I found impossible to do. the spring is so hard to stretch. I tried till both of my thumbs were bleeding from the pressure. Not mechanical, not an expert, forgive my lack of technical terms. I love my Bosch washer and dryer. They have been great appliances for 15 years. That said, the door boot gasket on the washer has been a problem since day one. This is the thick rubber piece that attaches to the drum and then the doors glass bubble fits into it when closed and keeps the water in the machine. Removed the rear panel, top lid and found burnt belt and what appeared to be worn out plastic dampers/shocks on bottom of drum. I had called several repairmen and they were all 7-10 days behind. Took off the broken and put on the new. Fortunately I managed to protect and save the screws and nylon bushings form the old. This should be mentioned when ordering a new part!! Read more

The inside spring clamp was not too difficult to get on. The outside one was more difficult. I finally read the instructions, and while that method was definitely better, it still needed a third hand to hold and stretch the spring. I definitely recommend a second person to help with that outside spring. Read more
