The Dryer Door Latch is an OEM part for Bosch clothes dryers. Located on the dryer cabinet door, this latch mechanism securely holds the door closed during drying cycles. Its durable construction allows smooth, controlled opening and closing of the dryer door.
Causes of a bad dryer door latch can include worn or broken latch parts from repetitive use. Accidental damage from overtightening or impact could also cause issues. Mineral or lint buildup over time may inhibit proper latch function.
Symptoms of a bad dryer door latch include:
- The door not closing or locking tightly into place
- Gaps forming around the door perimeter
- Excess air leaks reducing drying efficiency
- The door opening inadvertently during dryer cycles
This genuine Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore models.

Door wouldn't close due to tiny piece of plastic breaking in the cover, and latch fell into machine. We saved the two screws from the previous cover. In fact, days later after reading the owners manual more closely I found an area that showed the indication of a lock to indicate that the child lock had been set. After a 3 second adjustment the child lock was off and the dryer has worked fine since. I am keeping the suggested parts as backup for subsequent problems. The message is: read the entire manual.

The Limiter-Temperature is an OEM component specifically designed for select Bosch vented dryers requiring controlled heat. As a safety device, it restricts air exiting the exhaust to prevent accidental ignition of accumulated lint.
Precisely calibrated mechanothermal links automatically trip circuit breakers upon exceeding preset levels. Isolated housings shield reactive alloys from moisture while enabling thermodynamics to naturally trigger protective functions.
Causes requiring replacement involve over-heating from sustained over-drying preventing auto-stops. Physical damage exposing reactive cores could also impair intended response times.
Symptoms signaling the need for a new temperature limiter include:
- Inability to sense rising exhaust temperatures activating cutoffs
- Constantly energized heating elements lacking temperature regulation
- Excessively long or uncontrolled dry cycles posing combustion risks
This OEM Bosch replacement component is also compatible with some Gaggenau, Thermador, and select Kenmore dryers employing sensitive temperature cutoffs. Correct installation restores critical overheat protection circuits.
