If the oven burner would not light but the broiler would this indicated that the safety valve is OK. Problem had to be with the igniter. Removed the bottom panel in the oven and restarted the oven. The igniter would not glow at all. It should be brilliant red. This is where the problem came in. The repair was relatively simple and quick. The only part required was a new oven thermostat assembly and the tools I used for my model was a flathead screwdriver, cross-point screwdriver, torque bit and 1/4 inch socket using a bit driver. Called Appliance Parts - service agent was extremely helpful. Tried to find an assembled piece was unable to do so. Send me the individual parts which were very easy to assemble. Removed the front off the back panel, unplugged the old unit. Then using a blow dryer heated the old timer to peel the face /cover off and applied to the new clock. Plugged in the replacement clock. Replaced the front of the range. The only complaint I have is we were not informed that a new face would not be included and the old one would have to be removed and applied to the replacement clock. I lifted up the door and removed it. Next, I laid out newspaper on the floor. I placed the door on the newspaper upside down. With my socket driver, I removed the bottom door trim. I then used a pocket knife to remove the remaining glass in the top groove. I then slid in the new glass and reinstalled the trim.
