The Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar is an OEM part for LG dryers. It plays a critical role in detecting the moisture level of clothes during the drying cycle, enabling the dryer to adjust the drying time automatically. This ensures efficient operation, preventing over-drying, which can damage fabrics and increase energy consumption.
Symptoms of a bad Dryer Moisture Sensor Bar include:
Causes of a bad moisture sensor bar can stem from a buildup of lint and fabric softener residue, which insulates the sensor and impairs its ability to accurately detect moisture. Additionally, wear and tear or damage from loading and unloading can affect its functionality.
Regular cleaning and maintenance are recommended to ensure that your LG dryer operates efficiently and preserves the life of your clothes.
After I cleaned out the typical 1.5 pounds of lint from the vent, ( I do it every 2 months), I went searching for a solution. I found 6 possible causes on this site and purchased everything except a new burner; I wasn't going to go that far. Let the fun begin. Since my vacuum was still nearby, I thought I was ready for anything. Wrong. After I watched all the videos again for reassurance, I went in with screwdriver in hand and laptop nearby. I removed the top and looked inside. Don't be fooled,... Read more
Maintains tension on your dryer's drum belt for smooth rotation. Replace if pulley wheel is cracked, shaft worn, or assembly moves excessively during operation.
Was going to order 4 new wheel & spindle sets, then saw you could get just the wheel for 1/3 the cost, so I ordered those. Then in the frequently ordered other items I saw the idler wheel assy. So I ordered one of those also. Glad I did, it was in worse shape than any of the wheels which still seemed to spin freely after I got all the hairs and crap off them. Anyways, went by the video step by step. Pretty straightforward. Have a good vacuum handy, I’m surprised that it used to dry at all... Read more
Replace your dryer drum seal when clothes take longer to dry or you notice lint buildup. Maintains heat efficiency and prevents air leaks. Confirm fit with your model number.
From reading "troubleshooting" sites on the internet, originally thought I'd be replacing the front & rear drum rollers, so I ordered the rollers, and a new belt before I opened up the dryer, taking it out of use. When I opened it up the front rollers were "shot", and the front bulkhead was "totaled". Waited for parts to arrive (within 2 days), and successfully replaced front & rear rollers, bulkhead, drum seal. The on-line videos really helped me ensure I was keeping in the right order. My... Dryer not heating or overheating? The high limit thermostat shuts off heat at unsafe temperatures. Moderate difficulty repair requiring partial disassembly.
Checked and cleaned vent which was in need of cleaning, but not too bad (I do not consider this a primary causal detail, but can be a problem, so clean yours). Replaced Hi-Limit Thermostat (safety thermostat) after confirming the circuit was open with ohm meter. While I was in there, I completely cleaned the heater and ducting and internal workings of the dryer. Confirmed the heater coils were good via 20ohm, 20ohm, 40ohm readings (LG service manual has wrong readings). Two weeks later, same... Read more
Dryer won't heat or takes too long to dry? A faulty igniter often causes no heat in gas dryers. Moderate DIY repair with front panel removal required.
I first ordered a thermostat and ignitor and replaced and that did not work. I asked Appliance Parts Pros their opinion in the chat and they said it was the coils in the gas valve but you had to replace the entire valve as the coils are not sold individually. So i ordered the part and also replaced the thermistor and drum belt while i had the dryer apart anyway! And this fixed the problem! These guys are the absolute best and most helpful i have ever dealt with. This is the second time i... Read more
Idler pulley maintains tension on the dryer belt. Replace if worn, cracked, or causing belt slippage. Installs between motor and drum support system.
I have an LG dryer purchased in 2007. Model: DLE9577SM. It was squeaking at start-up and rumbling a little. Not knowing what parts I would actually need, I ordered rollers with/without assemblies, tensioner pulley-only, new belt. After viewing this video a couple of times, I attacked my machine which is located in the comfort of my garage. Lots of room to spread out. Nice. This disassembly went OK however because, I suspect, my machine is 13 years old, the removal of the control panel was... Read more
Converting your dryer from natural gas to propane? This LP conversion kit includes the orifice and components needed. Moderate difficulty repair.
Ordered conversion kit from Appliance Parts Pros.com and installed it myself. Most difficult part of the repair, was the removal of the front casing of the dryer to access the location of venturi tube to be changed out. The instructions were helpful, but not specific enough for my dryer. Once the casing was off, the job was not too difficult - you will need a set of short screwdrivers to remove the burner flange and close the pressure adjustment screw, normal length screw drivers will come into... The Igniter Sensor is an OEM part for LG dryers. This sensor plays a critical role in the ignition process, ensuring that the gas ignites properly to produce the heat necessary for drying clothes efficiently. It helps monitor and regulate the ignition temperature.
Over time, the igniter sensor can become faulty due to regular use, exposure to high temperatures, or electrical issues. These factors can lead to a malfunction, resulting in the dryer not heating properly or failing to start.
Symptoms of a bad igniter sensor include:
This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.
Used video and took apart dru, this was extremely helpful. I bypassed the belt and door switch. Tested gas valves (gas disconnected) with multimeter. Found that the igniter worked the first gas valve, but the second gas valve would not open and the igniter would stay on. Found a flow chart online that shows the flame detect turns on causing the gas to turn on and shuts off the igniter. I replaced it and tested again. Igniter turns on, shuts off, then power to the second gas valve turns... Read more
The Door Hinge is an OEM part for LG dryers. This hinge supports the dryer door, allowing it to open and close smoothly and securely. It ensures that the door stays aligned and functions properly, providing reliable access to the dryer drum for loading and unloading clothes.

This OEM LG part is also compatible with some Kenmore models.
This part was the perfect fix for my broken door hinge on my LG front loading dryer. I watched a video on YouTube of a hinge replacement of a similar front loading Samsung dryer. I needed a little help from my son holding the door glass and plastic in place while re-attaching the door to the hinge, but it was an easy repair. Read more
Fix loud banging, grinding noise, or poor drying performance with a new dryer blower wheel. Restores proper airflow through drum and exhaust vent.
I replaced the dryer motor. I followed the repair video on the Appliance Parts Pro site, with a few modifications to the procedure. I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors. I also loosened the front panel and tipped it forward before disconnecting the door switch as there wasn't enough space to disconnect the switch otherwise. Removal of the blower assembly required the use of penetrating lubricant as the assembly was stuck on the motor... Read more

For propane order 383EEL3002A.
I ordered the natural gas conversion orifice with 2 day shipping, I also ordered for only maintenance reasons a new ignitor, as they are very common wear and tear item (like a spark plug on a gas engine or a glow plug on a diesel engine ). Both items came promptly and well protected . Easy install, only needed a Phillips screwdriver for entire repair. R&R top first, r&r front display panel,r&r door,r&r front panel,r&r drum (very easy), replaced ignitor and orifice. Total job took 30 min. I... Read more
