This was easier then I made it. Originally took the actual ice maker out without removing the whole system from the door. There are 3 silver screws that do that hold the whole mechanism in place, as opposed to the 5 white screws that hold the ice maker in place. With the entire assembly out it was a matter of routing the ground wire, retaping the wires, and then the whole assembly went back into the door without a problem. Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. That reduced the leakage to a smaller amount but did not fully stop the leakage. Replaced the ice maker assembly and that completed the repair. No leakage issues and ice maker is working with no issues.

Replaced plastic housing for $100. Recommend buying the whole assembly though. Cost a bit more but you would be done in 15min. When you just replace the housing, you have to disassemble the old one very carefully to reuse several parts that do not come with the housing. A lot of fragile plastics. Plus, make sure you have GooGone and 3M thin tape handy; you will absolutely need it. Again, buy the whole assembly and save time and headache.
