Thanks to the testimony of others on the site, I knew exactly which parts to order. The triangular holder which keeps the ice storage container was cracked so I replaced it. I also ordered a new Auger Motor Drive Shaft which makes the curvy metal piece in the bin turn. Mine had worn down and would not turn the curvy metal piece anymore. Replacing these pieces worked like a charm. My kids were amazed that ice now comes out of the door after 2 months of having to reach inside. Read more

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. I noticed Ice maker Quit for the third time in 15 years so I decided to buy another Ice maker, I installed it and NO ice still?? • Ice maker won't dispense ice

I first thought it was the auger in the ice container so I changed it and it was not the problem. I then talked to ApplianceParts customer service that it might be the yoke on the motor that turned the auger or even the motor itself even though it worked. I ordered the parts, the yoke was supposed to be able to be changed by itself but mind would not come off the motor shaft so I had to cut it off just to remove it from the unit so I had to change the motor anyway because of this.
