The Hinge Pin is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This part allows the door to open and close smoothly, providing a durable pivot point for the door's movement.
Over time, hinge pins can wear down or become damaged due to the constant stress of door movement, improper alignment, or accidental force applied to the door. A compromised hinge pin can lead to issues such as difficulty in opening or closing the door, a door that hangs unevenly or doesn't seal properly, and increased wear on other door components.
Symptoms of a bad Hinge Pin include:
- Squeaking or resistance when opening or closing the door
- The door not closing fully or sealing properly
- Visible wear or damage to the pin
- The refrigerator or freezer door hanging unevenly
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker (and shut off gas, if applicable) before servicing
- Note wire positions and transfer leads one-for-one to the new thermostat
- Mount flush against the sensing surface with original screws/clips; reinstall any insulation or thermal interface material as found
