This rear thermostat seal is a small rubber gasket that protects the thermostat opening and helps keep appliance compartments sealed for proper temperature control. Replacing a damaged seal helps maintain safe, consistent operation. What it does:
- Seals the thermostat mounting area to prevent air leaks that can affect temperature regulation
- Helps protect the thermostat from dust, lint, and moisture
- Can reduce intermittent heating or cooling caused by air loss around the thermostat
- Fits at the rear thermostat location to ensure the sensor reads accurate cabinet temperatures
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before replacing the seal to avoid shock or injury
- Replacement typically requires access to the thermostat at the rear panel—follow appliance-specific disassembly steps
- Inspect the thermostat and surrounding area for damage or contamination while replacing the seal
- Use proper hand tools and avoid over-stretching the gasket during installation

The Alumilastic Cement is an OEM part for Whirlpool appliances, typically used in refrigerators and freezers. It serves as a thermal mastic compound, designed to provide a secure and heat-conductive bond between various components, such as evaporator coils and the interior walls of the appliance.
Causes of a bad alumilastic cement can include drying out, cracking, or losing its adhesive properties over time. This can occur due to age, exposure to temperature fluctuations, or improper application. When the cement fails, it can lead to poor thermal conductivity and decreased cooling efficiency.
Symptoms of a bad alumilastic cement include:
- Reduced cooling performance
- Unusual noises from the cooling system
- Components becoming loose or detaching
- Increased energy consumption
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling clicks and buzzes were heard every couple of minutes Chris P. • Houston , TX • May 03, 2014
Googled the symptoms and realized it was probably the Start Relay. To check, I unplugged the refrigerator, took off the back panel, and pulled the old start relay off. I shook it and it rattled, like something was broken inside. That was the sign that it did indeed need to be replaced. Looked up the part on www.appliancepartpros.com and found it. Ordered it and it was here two days later. Replaced the old one and the refrigerator started cooling again. Very easy fix that saved me calling a...

Compresser wouldn't start freezer and frigerator was warm relay starter was clicking Harry A. • Cape May , NJ • November 21, 2015
Easy fix. Unscrewed the back cover. Took the starter relay off the side of the compresser. Install the new one. Put cover back on. Plugged in the frigerator. Started right up. Working great. If you have a problem ordering the right starter relay for your frig. Call or use the help chat on the web site. I used the chat. It was great. They found the part I needed in less than two minutes.
