I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze. Researched this kenmore washer on-line and found the problem to be the lid switch. Saw a diagram on how to jump this switch by connecting a wire to both outside wires on the harness and voila! It worked! This is not a fix but it allowed me to finish the load of unwashed clothes and told me which part was bad (do not run washer jumped like this.......fire hazard!) I utilized your videos. The pump video implied if the leak was ignored? You would have to cut the pump off, which was what I did. The impeller also had to be cut down to the plastic collar on the motor shaft, which I used a handheld chop grinder to get through the plastic collar without damaging the shaft, because of the neglect on the leak the motor shaft had to be filed and sandpapered to accept the new pump. Fixing the problem was quite simple. First, I removed the lid assembly (thanks to the diagrams supplied by AppliancePartsPros.com!). Getting the back two screws out was very difficult because I couldn't see them from the front and I could not move the unit out of the enclosed space. After some trial and error, I located the screws which were 5/16 hex head screws and removed them with a MAGNETIC nut driver. Weekend laundry became very noisy, our 1987 Whirlpool washer began doing a dance across the floor and the drum was banging into the inner cabinet. After doing some research and watching a few videos on Appliance parts pros website.
