I determined that it was a problem that occurred during the defrost cycle by resetting the GFCI outlet and forwarding the defrost timer until the defroster came on. Once the defrosting began, the GFCI outlet would reliably trip. I took apart the shielding inside of the freezer and tested the defrosting without the heating element or the thermostat connected. Ordered a replacement Drain Hose. $9.95 shipping seems high for a $5.55 part but it was delivered next day. This was better than promised!!! I pulled of the old hose and replaced it with the new. No tools required. Working like a charm. Read more

Volt Ohmmeter test indicated defrost thermostat and heater were OK. Defrost voltage measured ~25 VAC. I ordered all the most likely repair parts, but thought the control board had failed. I replaced the control board and the freezer has been working properly for several days. I haven't decided whether to keep or return the unused parts. I damaged the paint removing the electrical control. There must be a trick to protect the paint from the putty knife and screwdriver. Read more

Removed the freezer shelves and back panel, evaporator coils were frozen with ice. Defrosted coil and removed defrost heater connectors, measured no continuity in the heater and ordered a replacement. Also discovered the aluminum retention strap was broken and the heater had slipped down in it's position, ordered and replacement strap. Re-installed new heater and strap per the video instructions, repair complete. Most difficult steps were drilling out the drain pan rivet and re-threading... Read more

Went online and ordered both parts on separate days, receiving the parts the next day FedEx. I am a 74 year female and put the parts on myself, also the model # on the freezer was easy to find. Live in a rural area in NW Missouri and would have driven 60 miles to order parts and then probably would have driven 60 miles to get them or had repair man come which is $100 just to have one come. When the part arrived finally, 10 minute's later the refrigerator was working. Note: FedEx was not the fastest way, the part set days at their facility before moving to another. Finally, it was transferred to USPS and delivery was made by my postman. Read more
