This heat exchanger suction line kit replaces a damaged or corroded suction line assembly to restore proper refrigerant flow and heat transfer in the cooling system. It helps maintain consistent compartment temperatures and system efficiency. What it does:
- Transfers heat from the refrigerant suction line so the compressor and evaporator operate correctly
- Replaces cracked, kinked, or corroded tubing that can cause refrigerant loss or reduced cooling
- Helps address symptoms such as warm or inconsistent temperatures, visible oil or residue at fittings, or abnormal frost/ice patterns
- Restores a sealed refrigerant path after tubing damage or when corrosion has compromised the line
What's included: One heat exchanger suction line kit (one assembled suction line as shown) Install notes:
- Intended for qualified service technicians only; system access requires certified refrigerant handling
- Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing and follow all safety precautions
- Installation may require brazing, flare fittings, or specialty tools; verify leak-tight connections and pressure-test per OEM procedures
- Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system to OEM specifications after installation

It stopped cooling/freezing then started again a day later. Dale M. • Maplewood , MN • July 21, 2022
Profess: I have known for years that this model does not have the heater circuits that allows it to run in a cold room/garage. To solve this problem, I usually stuck a hair dryer on medium under the front lip to blow warm enough air back to the compressor area. Not finding hair dryers at Goodwill, I stuck a heat gun under there. No problems last year, but this year it stopped and I went to the back area to examine it. I found the heat gun had taken its toll on the plastic shroud and fan blade,...
