Replaced original (18 yrs.) 1/4" plastic tubing, clamp and grommet (AppliancePartsPros/GE parts) from outlet of ice maker water control valve to ice maker inlet. Also replaced water supply line to inlet of water control valve with new, GE braided, PEX 1/4" supply line with pre-attached female compression fittings on both ends. Replaced the defrost heater and thermostat. Removed the back panel in the freezer. Defrosted coils with a hair blow dryer. Removed defective unit and installed new replacement. Refer is back to normal operation. Took more time to defrost than to remove and install heating unit.
