The ice dispenser door was not closing tightly. As a result, there was frost build up in the ice chute, which also was allowing ambient air and temperature into the freezer compartment. Upon further inspection, there was black “schmutz” on the ice door, and the rubber ice funnel and deflector parts were deteriorating. Ordered top and bottom drawers and right and left side rails. Hardest thing was getting out the broken drawers on out took me 15 minutes to re install the new hardware. Read more

This recess heater was a last resort 'nuclear' option that I never employed. First repair was to replace the solenoid that keeps the little door from staying open and letting room air back up it. Also replaced the gaskets around both doors which allowed the freezer and fridge sides to stay at the right temp. That seems to have done the trick. I ended up replacing the circuit board, solenoid, and ice door. While I had it torn apart, I went ahead and replaced the rubber pieces that funnel the ice into the glass. Read more
