The GE access cover is an OEM replacement part responsible for covering the compressor area on a refrigerator. This panel is located on the rear or bottom of the refrigerator and provides easy access to the compressor and condenser coils and prevents dirt and debris from entering the compressor area. When this part becomes damaged, it can lead to issues such as poor cooling performance, excessive noise from the compressor area, or even compressor overheating.
Symptoms of a bad access cover include:
- Visible cracks, breaks, or deformation in the cover
- Difficulty in securing the cover properly in place
- Increased dust or debris buildup inside the refrigerator

Ok so my mom called GE and a service man came out. He said no good. The refrigerator was to old to be fixed.
