This refrigerator water line is the plastic tubing that routes pressurized water through the appliance's water system. Replacing a cracked, brittle, or kinked line helps restore proper water flow and prevents leaks inside or around the unit.
- Carries water between the inlet valve and the refrigerator's water system components
- Helps maintain a sealed path for reliable flow to the dispenser and/or ice maker
- Replace if tubing is cracked, kinked, brittle, or leaking
- Common symptoms include puddling, dripping, reduced/No water at the dispenser, or ice maker not filling
What's included: One water line/tube. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the water supply before servicing
- Note the original routing and clip locations; avoid sharp bends and kinks during installation
- Fully seat tubing into existing connectors/fittings on your model
- Turn water back on, check all connections for leaks, and purge air by dispensing water

Old plastic water line broke and i broke the valve trying to pull the end of the water line out Ronald W. • Sagaponack , NY • May 13, 2017
I replace the water inlet valve in my refrigerator about 8 months ago. About a week ago, the old plastic water line broke. I forgot how the water line connector worked and broke the valve trying to pull it out. I got a new valve and replacement water line, and it went in easily, just like the video said.
Morals of the story:
1. Know how to remove the old plastic water line. I could have saved myself the price of a new valve if I'd remembered how the connector worked. Unless you have a really...

This defrost heater kit warms the evaporator during the automatic defrost cycle to melt frost and keep air moving. Replace it when ice builds up on the freezer coils and temperatures rise or airflow is restricted.
- Heats the evaporator coil during defrost to clear accumulated frost/ice
- Helps maintain proper airflow and stable temperatures in both compartments
- Symptoms can include heavy frost on the back wall/evaporator cover, reduced cooling, or fan noise from ice contact
- A failed heater can leave the defrost system unable to clear ice, restricting airflow
What's included: 1 defrost heater kit Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the refrigerator before servicing
- Access the heater behind the freezer's rear panel; safely remove heavy ice before replacement
- Move wires and clips one at a time, routing exactly like the original to avoid pinched or exposed conductors
- After replacement, monitor defrost operation; icing persists, also check the defrost thermostat and control

Breaker was tripping when going into defrost mode Paul G. • New Fairfield , CT • December 08, 2014
Inspected the Defrost timer and it seamed to be functioning properly. Ohm ed out the defrost heater element and it also measured out correctly (mine 34 ohms). Bypassed the heater element and found that the unit would run without tripping breaker during defrost cycle. At this point i inspected the wiring to the heater and checked continuity of the wire and continuity to ground, No issues found. So with the heater out of the circuit and not having an issue i ordered heater element from...

Icemaker stopped working David K. • Haymarket , VA • July 11, 2016
GE bottom freezer icemaker stopped working for the 2nd time. Refrigerator bought in 2008, replaced (first time) icemaker in 2009 by GE tech for $450, after 7 years 2nd ice maker failed I decided to attempt replacing the icemaker myself. Purchased a replacement icemaker that comes as a kit. I replaced the water valve and the icemaker unit with in 30 minutes and I had ice the next day. Easy peasy for less than $140. Changed the Frigidaire Icemaker Fill Tube Part # 241796405 (AP5671747) about a week ago and so far the Frigidaire Refrigerator seems to work fine. Did not use other ordered parts. Recently ice formed around internal evaporator fan and it started making loud noise when then fan and compressor, etc were running. A long winded history noted below if interested:
I have been fighting with this Frigidaire Refrigerator for about 3 to 4 years, started out with the evaporator fan making noise when ice...

This defrost thermostat monitors the evaporator coil temperature and controls power to the defrost heater. Replacing a failed thermostat restores proper defrosting, reduces frost buildup, and helps keep fresh food and freezer compartments cooling as designed.
- Senses evaporator temperature to open/close the defrost heater circuit at the correct point in the cycle
- Protects against overheating during defrost by interrupting power when the set temperature is reached
- Helps prevent heavy frost/ice accumulation on the evaporator and loss of airflow
- Common signs it may be bad: ice behind the freezer rear panel, warm refrigerator section, unit never defrosts or refreezes soon after a manual defrost
What's included: 1 defrost thermostat Installation notes:
- Disconnect power before servicing; wear cut-resistant gloves
- Remove the freezer's rear panel to access the evaporator; the thermostat is typically clamped to an evaporator tube
- Match wire positions and mount the new thermostat in the same location with firm contact to the tubing
- Route wires away from the fan and sharp edges; reassemble and verify normal defrost operation
